Ariana and Gleb are hilarious! They have so much fun together, and I knew their wedding would be full of tons of laughter! I worked with Ariana and her darling mom, Joy, for most of last year. I wasn’t able to meet Gleb until the tasting. He literally had me in stitches. So much so, that I almost spit my coffee across the table in laughter when he was talking about wedding plans! The icing on the cake is that the wedding was held at Estancia La Jolla–just a few minutes from I Do…Weddings & Events’ headquarters.
Many of my Brides have this hanger. I really like the touch of having it for the groom, too. I think it would be adorable to hang hooks in the bathroom, and have both the Bride and Groom have a space for robes, towels or the following day’s clothing.
When working with Ariana, she wanted modern, funky architectural flowers, that also mimicked the minimal, Spanish inspired look and feel of Estancia. Her asymmetrical bouquet was a lot of fun to create, and smelled heavenly, due to a few gardenias.
Aren’t the Estancia La Jolla grounds beautiful? Many of my couples use this resort as a place for a rehearsal dinner, ladies spa day, or my favorite, a Getting Ready location. The grounds are impeccable, year-round.
The more I see ombre shades of Bridesmaid dresses, the more I love them. We unified them by keeping the bouquets the same, with similar hair and make-up.
Another really special part of the day was baby Mila. She is the Bride and Groom’s adorable little gal. She walked down the aisle with her dad, and I was extremely impressed–particularly because she was under a year old at the time. If you are familiar with the Garden Courtyard, you know how long the aisle is. Mila was PERFECT.
The ceremony space is really special. Bamboo reeds, lush grass and a great fountain, are all focal pieces. Because we had lots of color with the bridesmaid dresses, we opted to flank the fountain, as well as hang flowers from the chairs.
Estancia La Jolla’s property has a great unique feel. One of my favorite areas is directly adjacent to the lobby. In the evening, they have these spectacular wrought iron candles that have a heavenly scent. We often come to the property in the evening when decorating clients’ honeymoon suites, and it is always something I stop to admire. It is little details like this that make every Estancia La Jolla wedding memorable and special. Ariana is glowing by candlelight in this photo.
At the reception, we included moss and succulents. We even potted succulents in terra cotta pots for each guest. It served as both a place card and favor.
Ariana and Gleb, thank you a million times over for picking me as your consultant! You know how to throw one heck of a party!!! I enjoyed every second.
